Extended Period Simulation (EPS)
complete
epanet-js team
The application will fully support Extended Period Simulation (EPS), which is essential for analyzing the dynamic behavior of a water system over time. An EPS allows modelers to see how tank levels, pressures, and flows change throughout the day in response to fluctuating demands and operational controls. This is the core analysis type for most operational and water quality studies.

EPS is now available in epanet-js!
You can try it now using our demo models, or load your own models with EPS enabled.
We’ll continue extending the feature to improve the EPS experience, including demand and pattern editing, and time-series graphs for results.
Let us know how you find this first version.

EPS and the patterns for auto runs and graphical visualization?
Luke Butler
epanet-js anonymous user (#32ejsx) In the next few days we should have demand patterns

Halo EPANET JS Team! Are we also able to have Demand Multiplier at the node level?
Luke Butler
Hey Jack O. - we are going to support demand scaling and adjustment with scenarios. We'll have it set up so you can set defined areas of nodes and scale them up separately.
We have it listed here on the roadmap:

Luke Butler I tried it on a small model. Looking forward to the enhancements to pattern editing and graphs. I did like the 'step through' by time step button and drop down. It would be nice to have a 'play' button that advanced the time steps on a single click so you could see colors and values in the map automatically changing at each time step.

Jim R.: Pattern editing and a quick graph in the asset panel are coming early next year - so you won't have to wait too long for those.
Animating the simulation with a play button is another thing we know that is needed but we will need to prirotize it among the many other EPS features we still need to do. It will get added eventually!

I was just thinking allowed if it would be possible to have several demands at a single node. For instance, have the usual Base Demand, fireflow demand, leakage, health facility demand, school demand, market demand, car washing demand, industry demand (slaughterhouse, tannery, chemical processing - all combined into one because the node is located in an industrial zone), may be lawning demand and irrigation demand. I would be glad to hear your thoughts in this
Luke Butler
Jack O. good news - we will let you add multiple demands with patterns to junctions. There won't be a limit and you can add as many as you need.
The first version of EPS which we will release will have the demand categories as read-only, but early next year we'll add editing them.
