To accelerate model setup and improve consistency, this tool will automatically assign pipe roughness coefficients based on user-defined rules. Users can create a table that maps specific roughness values (e.g., Hazen-Williams C-factor) to combinations of pipe material and installation year or age range. The system can then apply these values in bulk to the entire network, ensuring a standardized and defensible approach to assigning friction factors.

The data schema will natively include important asset management attributes for pipes, such as material and installation year. Capturing this information is crucial for long-term capital planning and rehabilitation studies. It enables powerful workflows, such as automatically assigning pipe roughness based on age and material, or identifying pipes that are due for replacement.
